Dyson Heppell’s beard is (or rather was) a shocker, but it was all for a fantastic cause. Seen below you can see Dyson having the filthy mange shaved off by 6 year old Harrison to raise money and awareness for a very rare disease called Scleroderma.
You can check out the link above for more information on the disease, of which you Harrison is the youngest sufferer. Dyson Heppell’s grandmother was another afflicted with the condition. Dyson’s efforts have raised over $60,000 for the cause and even though the beard is now gone you can still donate funds at getbehindthebeard.com.au
Big news during the week that the man many think may have surpassed Michael Jordan as the greatest of all time has signed a deal to move to the Los Angeles Lakers next season. Lebron has ended a period of uncertainty, by penning the 4 year $153.3 million deal.
The Assassin Sean Oleksenko had some strong words for Lebron that may have him removed from the Christmas Card list. He feels that Lebron’s shifting to another club is further proof that the small forward does not deserve to be in the conversation as the greatest of all time. Oly, pointed out that players like Jordan, Magic Johnson and many of the other great players of the past had stayed at one club and built dynasties and that was what would always prevent James from being regarded as highly as those players in his eyes. He referred to James as nothing more than a mercenary, bit part player, who’s only motivation was money, he pointed out that he had lost 6 times when it counted and was not even in the same ballpark as Jordan in terms of what he did for the game.
What do you think? Is Lebron in the conversation? Is he the GOAT? Are you a fan of the move to LA? Give us all your Lebron opinions and maybe give the Assassin a Chop!
I’ve been asked by the boys from In The Sheds to write something about how I feel about Cyril Rioli in the wake of him announcing his immediate retirement during the week . As a Hawthorn supporter for more than 30 years the news was devastating to me and to a lot of Hawthorn supporters. However we all understand the desire for him to want to spend more time with his family. Never the less his presence on the field will be sorely missed.
The skills of the #33 were a joy to watch and whenever he was around the ball you would hold your breath in anticipation of what Cyril was about to do, he had this uncanny ability to leave you simply breathless at the end of his every possession. We wish you all the very best in your retirement and say farewell to a real genuine superstar. The human highlight reel. Cyril you rocked us for more than a decade. Keep Rocking!!
Shown above is AFL.com.au promoting the Buddy Arc, which is a phrase coined by Bruce McAvaney to describe the way Buddy kicks for goal. Last Thursday night Buddy was at it again! He ran off the mark, around the corner and Richmond’s Alex Rance spoiled the kick. The result of course was a 50m penalty to the Swans. Alby argued that any other player it would have been called play on, but it seems that the umpires have bought into this baloney about this being Buddy’s natural arc and therefore they have allowed him to get away with a kicking technique that no other player in the game would be allowed to employ.
For the record, Buddy’s cheating didn’t help the Swans as the Tigers got the points in Melbourne.

Have you noticed Buddy being given latitude by the umpires to run off the mark or do you think Alby’s picking on him unnecessarily?
This is Jason Cole. You may never hear this name again, but on the 30th June this park footballer had a day to remember. Playing for Seymour against Benalla in Victoria’s Goulbourne Valley competition Cole amassed a remarkable 61 disposals, including 6 goals in his sides 38 point victory I think it’s a fair call to get around him!
Tell us about your best day out! Ever had a day where everything you touched turned to gold?
